This was a project that was worked on in late 2023 as a Junior in the DTC program at Washington State University Vancouver. In a small group of 3, we brainstormed, conceptulalized, outlined, and almost fully protyped a mobile phone application. The purpose of this application was simple, it was designed to help workers at arcades repair game machine, hence the name Game Doctor.

I was the one mainly in-charge of actually bringing the idea to life by creating the prototype.

The app itself

This is the first thing you are prompted with once you open the app, a login screen. We wanted to give users the option to create an accoutn so that they can save their recent orders and game service manuals, as they will likely have to work on the same game more than once. Of course, not everyone wants to create an account, some people might want to just get in and use the app, so we also included a guest option.

App Functionality

The app has 3 main functions that are all related to arcade games. First, you can search for machines by brand and get all the important information you could need. Second, you can then access the service manuals for these games, saving them to a 'My Manuals' collection on the app. Finally, the app would also be connected to various arcade game parts stores so you could quickly be taken to the parst you need to buy to service the game.
